Personal Statement
Why does your personal statement matter?
Your personal statement is your chance to show off what you have done to prepare for medicine. It is always difficult to write due to the strict word and character limit but it will hurt your chances of getting in if it is not written well or if there are grammatical errors. It is very important to have a strong personal statement as it is an easy way to boost your application. Please note that this is changing for the 2024 applicants although it is not currently known what this will look like. It is likely to consist of more specific questions asking you to reflect on your Scientific Interests and Work Experience as well as your motivation to study medicine.
Specifically, Keele and St Andrews Universities highly value the personal statement for Medicine. Most other universities will not rank you based on your personal statement but will expect it to be of a high quality.
